As directed by the Senior Tradesperson – Plumber and Maintenance Coordinator, maintain, install, commission and test equipment and services to ensure plumbing systems are in statutory compliance with relevant building codes, legislation and regulations.
The Facilities and Engineering and team consist of multiple trade groups performing planned and reactive maintenance activities primarily to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
The plumbing team consists of a team leader, two qualified plumbers and a trade assistant. Regular on-call and works outside ordinary business hours are a requirement of the role ongoing training and professional development is encouraged and supported as appropriate to the role and the Team.
As a member of the Facilities and Engineering team. The occupant is responsible for the repair and installation of all plumbing trade related plant, equipment, services and facilities within the departments area of responsibility.
The role: As directed by the Senior Tradesperson – Plumber and Maintenance Coordinator, maintain, install, commission and test equipment and services to ensure plumbing systems are in statutory compliance with relevant building codes, legislation and regulations.Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems and components including:Reticulating hot and cold water services, waste lines and similar associated equipment.Backflow prevention devices.Roofs, gutters, and general areas associated with the role.In consultation with supervisory staff design, implement and review programmed maintenance schedules.Assist other staff a required in the day-to-day operations of the Facilities and Engineering Services operations whilst working within the boundaries of trade qualification, knowledge and experience. This includes providing work feedback reports, ensuring deadlines, specifications, and quality standards are met and providing trade technical advice and relieving plumbing supervisory staff as required. Details of Appointment Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76hours per fortnight,commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies. Salary: $71,661 to $77,455 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount + access to Salary Packaging.

*For the purpose of the previous section the; relevant trade qualification; is: Certificate III in Plumbing or equivalent or eligible for registration by the Plumbers and Gas-fitters Registration Board to work as an Advanced Plumber (and Gas Fitter) in Tasmania Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
